Everybody Matters

KS2 Music Concert - February 2012

The Key Stage 2 Music Concert was a huge success. Since September, children have been given the opportunity to play a variety of instruments as part of the SCE Music Service’s ‘Wider Opportunities’ initiative.

Desert class in Year 3 have been learning to play the violin. Shell class, in year 4, have been learning to play the recorder and Mountain Class, Year 4/5, have been learning to play the trumpet. We were also treated to a performance by the newly created Blankenhagen School Band.

It is testament to the quality of instruction from Mr. Boothroyd and his team, coupled with the enthusiasm of the children of Blankenhagen School, that they were able to present such positive results within only a few months.

Our sincere thanks go to Mr. Boothroyd and the staff at Gutersloh Music Centre, the children for their commitment to practice and their parents for their tolerance. It can’t have been easy.
